My Tax Fella ("My Tax Fella", "we", "our" or "us") provides tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax resolution and related services nationwide, with offices in New York, New Jersey and North Carolina. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through mytaxfella.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

This policy covers the Site. If you become a client, information you provide during your engagement is also governed by the agreement we enter into with you and by federal rules that apply to tax return preparers. The Site does not create a client relationship.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Booking, consultation, contact, industry, check-in and "Sell Your Firm" forms: your name, email, phone number, business name where asked, preferred office, date and time, the services or topics you select, and any message you write.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: your name, email, the Journal lists you choose and, if you opt in to texts, your phone number.

Please do not enter Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or tax return details into Site forms. We collect that information through secure channels once you engage us.

Information collected automatically

  • Always, to run the Site: our hosting and security providers use short-lived technical cookies for routing and bot protection, and your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details.
  • Only after you accept analytics cookies: device and browser type, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from your IP address, and interaction events.

2. How We Use Information

  • To respond to your request, schedule appointments and route you to the right office or team.
  • To provide the services you engage us for.
  • To send newsletters and marketing emails you have signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To send marketing text messages only if you have separately agreed to receive them.
  • To protect the Site against spam and abuse and to keep it secure.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it, only with your analytics consent.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use or disclose tax return information for marketing without the consent required by federal law.

3. Who We Share Information With

  • GoHighLevel (LeadConnector): our customer relationship and messaging platform. It receives form submissions, and newsletter sign-ups, and provides our appointment booking pages, emails and texts.
  • Website hosting and database providers: host the Site and store a copy of form submissions.
  • Google Fonts: delivers the Site's fonts.
  • Analytics and advertising providers: only with your consent. Today this is a site-activity tracking script provided through our GoHighLevel marketing platform. If we add Google Analytics, Google Ads or Meta (Facebook) tools, they will also load only with your analytics or marketing consent.
  • Trusted third-party professionals (for example insurance or financial planning partners): only when you ask us to connect you with them.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law or legal process, or to protect rights and safety.

Non-sharing clause: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

A banner lets you accept, reject or customize analytics, marketing and preference cookies. Analytics and marketing tools do not load unless you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time using "Cookie Preferences" in the footer. Strictly necessary technical cookies are not controlled by the banner.

5. Email Marketing

Marketing emails and newsletters are sent only to people who sign up for them. Every marketing email includes our postal address and an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe requests take effect promptly and no later than 10 business days after we receive them.

6. Text Messages

If you give us your phone number with a request, we may call or text you about that request or your appointment. Marketing text messages are sent only if you have separately agreed to receive them; that agreement is never a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Your text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties (see the non-sharing clause in section 3).

7. How Long We Keep Information

  • Website inquiries that do not become clients: our policy is to delete them 24 months after our last contact with you. Deletion is currently carried out by our team rather than automatically.
  • Client records: kept as required by professional and legal record-keeping rules.
  • Newsletter data: kept until you unsubscribe, then only as a record that you should not be emailed again.

8. Security

Information you send through the Site travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Form submissions are stored in a database that visitors cannot read or change; only our servers can access it. Our website protects its forms against automated spam. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your information, withdraw marketing consent or change your cookie choices by contacting us. Residents of some states have additional rights, and we will respond to requests as required by applicable law.

10. Children

The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

11. Changes

We will post any updates on this page and change the Effective Date.
